Spirit friendly bags

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what they use as a spirit friendly bag, that they use as their personal item to replace a Cary on?

I see you are a fellow myrtle beacher...we fly Spirit alot and found for a long weekend (3-5 days) that a Travel Pro rolling small suitcase fits the "parameters" of Spirit's "free" personal item. (16x14x12). You can see one at Dillards or sometimes can be found at Marshalls/T.J.Maxx or the like for less than Dillards. Just recently purchased something similar without wheels at JCPenny for the Hubby for $50. Read the tags for the size. You can get in a surprising amount as long as you have access to a washer if you run out of clothes!

On the rare occasion I am forced to fly Spirit I just use a normal sized backpack.

They seem to put zero scrutiny on people with backpacks in my experience, but just be sure that it falls within the letter of Spirit's rules...

I agree about the backpacks and smaller freeform bags getting less scrutiny if you have one (and no purse, etc). Also, the Travelpro has also been available occasionally at Sierra Trading Post online.

I do a big backpack and sometimes hide any leftover stuff in the bag with food. I still don't get why they charge more for a carry on than a checked bag. Oh well- it works.

its to speed up the boarding process they want to discourge you from carrying on, so they can turn the planes and get more flights per day out of the ac
