SAA among airlines testing real-time transactions in-flight
Delta, Cathay Pacific, and flydubai have looked at different options for processing in-flight POS food/beverage and retail sales in real-time (instead of at the gate after arrival). SAA is now the latest addition to that list. In a real-world test, the airline has installed a satellite communications system capable of interfacing with POS devices on one of its jets.

Great. More time with the lights on and crew roaming the aisles selling duty-free or whatever when I'm trying to flipping sleep!
