well done kuwait airways J class
Flew LHR to BKK in business class 23rd May and after reading so many bad reviews i must say i was expecting the worse but must admit one of the best j class flights i have taken in years.
I paid 1190.00 pounds and in my opinion the best value j class ticket i have ever paid for and i have just purchased another j class ticket for next month.
I arrived at check in Terminal 4 at LHR at 08.30 and 5 mins later i was through fast track and a spot of shopping before the lounge.
4 deck lounge was ok for a short stay but nothing special but wasnt expected to spend all day there so good enough.
Boarding was organised with First and Businnes class getting priority (777-300),once onboard service was fast, efficient and better than i expected(Emirates could learn a lot from these FA's).
The cabin was clean but dated however the product was as good as Emirates offer with there:deeply reclining seats, which are sold at almost double the price!!.
Food was excellent and again in my opinion better than the last Emirates J class i took last month Glasgow-Dubai-Bangkok, no booze as Kuwait is a dry airline but this was a nice change and wasnt missed.
Took off ontime and arrived in Kuwait ahead of schedule, small airport so everything easy to find, lounge was fine, plenty of food, soft drinks and very clean, front desk also very helpfull.
Boarding to Bangkok was a bit of a shambles but again i managed to board first so wasnt an issue.
Once onboard the A340 service again was excellent, again cabin was dated but clean however one unexpected supprise was that even though they dont sell First on this particular route the J class passengers are seated in the First class cabin even though the J cabin was virtually empty as was Economy.
We departed ontime and arrived in Bangkok ahead of schedule and again the onboard service was perfect. On both legs we were supplied with inflight toilet bags and free gifts(pens etc)
Overall i thought the Kuwait Airways experience was way above my expectations and would advise anyone to give them a try.
Negetives, yes 1 or 2.
Dated equipment (both the 777 and the a340 looked there age) however so is the equipment that KLM,China airlines(747-400,s,and some Emirates(777-300,s)use too and from Bangkok.
Inflight entertainment needs a complete overhaull, but other than that i really couldnt find anything else to complain about.
Overall i found the Kuwait airways experince a breath of fresh air, having spent last year flying F and J on Emirates i wish i had spent the money with Kuwait.

you could always get mullered in the lounge at heathrow before the flight or alternetively pay doulble the cost and take another airline but a 1000.00 plus just to fly an airline that lets you get pissed on the flight seems a bit excessive to me

Dasman Lounge? you kidding me? they offer a whole lunch items? I didn't see that at most of the lounges I've been to!! massage seats, children playroom, smoking room, etc. It was comfy and there's a lot of seat space, can't be crowded at any point! I want to try the Peal lounge across from it, for experience though.
As for long flights, I thought that they handed over Archos multi-media devices packed with movies, didn't they?? this is their newest deal.

The Dasmans lounge food selection would put a lot of other similar size lounges to shame, certainly better than a lot of airline lounges at heatrow/gatwick,amsterdam etc,and the quality was more than acceptable. As well as a salad bar there were around 8 hot items to chose from including vegetables, rice, and main courses.also icecream, sweets and cakes so i thought this was a really good effort for such a small lounge.
As Lunardream correctly pointed out the lounge also has a childrens area and seperate smoking room and has a seperate area next to the food hotpress where someone was attending making fresh coffe etc,i also thought the standard of washrooms was also good(clean and tidy).
Lunardream is also correct when pointing out that Kuwait airways hands out portable multi media devices that have games, music,tv,air show and movies but as my seats entertainment systems were working on both legs of the journey i didnt feel the need to try the portable devices out.

thanks for your reply. although I'm kinda of ashamed ay my own national airport, KWI, its pretty uncomfortable and nothing compared to other airports in the region. I have to admit that since I've acquired priority pass, I've been to Dasman lounge in KWI, Cedar Lounge in Beirut and Dilmon Lounge in BAH, and by far Dasman lounge is the best, and that coffee counter is Costa Coffee an international coffee franchise, so I'm still amazed. I've missed a chance for a 2nd visit two days ago because of a meeting with a friend outside the tie airport

I was in Dubai J class lounge last month, chaos!,packed to the brim, impossible to get a decent seat at most times of day.
This was my first time at Kuwait airport and whilst it doesnt have the hundreds of shopping outlets or razamataz of some other middle eastern terminals i was really quite supprised at how easy it was to get where you wanted to and from leaving the aircraft to getting into the lounge was less than 5 mins.cant complain at that.
As a kuwait national i see no reason to be ashamed of your own airport, believe me it outshines many european airports.
