Your question has been answered at least several times in this thread!

You have to book a non-prepaid flexible rate, which is indeed more expensive than the prepaid. All rates are available online.

PLEASE, READ THE THREAD BEFORE POSTING QUESTIONS!

yes OF COURSE i have read.. and i see the terms conditin

A|Club rewards gift vouchers may be used as means of payment for all rates (public and promotional rates) in all member hotels participating in the A|Club Program.

but since the promo rate has to pre=pay.. I have written one of the hotel in bangkok and enquire. they had told me

XXX Could you please make a room reservation through our web site and kindly mention in remark space that your will pay all room
cost by A Club voucher in stead of cut credit card.

And now we have noted that once we receive the room reservation under the name ___________ we won't charge on your credit
card but will deduct with your voucher, however please kindly advise us by return this e-mail again incase of you will going to book
with other name then we can be aware. XXX

Im not so sure are they gonna work or not since once i booked the promo fare I have to let them charge directly at the booking page. Wonder will they really will look at the names & reverse the transaction & let u pay by voucher.

anyway i just post this to let everybody know maybe they can contact the individual hotels beore booking & get the reply with the staff name on it at least anything happend we still have proof of it..

When I emailed the St. James in London the Res. Manager told me not to book a prepaid rate, as they could not refund the money to my card.

However, as the prepaid rates are much lower than the flex rates, I might try to do what the hotel told you and mention the fact that I want to use vouchers after booking a prepaid rate online. Or maybe, I can make the reservation by phone and the agent can get around the prepaid thing.

We will have to wait and see!

I also just got an email back from the same Res. Manager at the St. James, who told me that I can use a voucher in the bar/restaurant without being an overnight guest (great for afternoon tea).

Technically, this is against the terms of the vouchers.

It seems that every hotel is doing their own thing and you have to confirm what it is beforehand.

The AIClub rewards gift voucher is accepted exclusively during the period of validity specified on the reverse side to pay for part or full settlement of services (which must include a minimum one-night stay) provided by hotels in the Sofitel, Pullmann, MGallery, Novotel, Mercure, Suitehotel, Ibis and all seasons networks but also by the Accor Thalassa hotels.
Pray tell what is the period of validity? One year I am guessing?

I dunno. I hope that CC gets flooded with them so that I can acquire them for a drink chit each! I'd gladly buy a beer to not have to mess with signing up.

OTOH, if CC gets flooded it means that people are probably killing the deal, and I don't want that either!

So if I understand correctly, this promo starts us off with 2k points in our account. We then redeem them for a 40/60 voucher, which is good for some undetermined amount of time. The points, however, have an expiration 1 year from now. In other words, it seems that the 2k signup bonus expires on 9/30, not the points themselves.

I see that most people are requesting the vouchers right away. But it seems we could wait for up to a year, right? This would extend the life of the voucher. (Of course, they could also kill the deal between now and then, too, however.)

Anybody else not redeeming right away? Just curious if this is a reasonable approach.

I have redeemed most of might right away, but am considering creating some dormant account and requesting the vouchers at a latter time.

It would extend their life. However, some people are saying that when Accor moves to electronic vouchers they might not be transferable. So, when you show up with vouchers for Joe Smith, J. Smith, Smith Joe, Smith S, the hotel might start asking questions!

Yes, looks like the plug has been pulled 48 hours early.

To be honest, I'm surprised it lasted this long, and well done to Accor for actually meeting their obligations.

That's a bit more credit than I'm willing to extend.

Looks to me like they've just woken up to the fact their pockets have been picked, so they cut short the promo; I wouldn't be surprised if they take steps to block any certs that have not yet been mailed.

Yes, they got picked. But, they should have know that from the start.

I am hopping that they dont cancel any vouchers that have yet to ship.

I think they would have to cancel the whole membership program to not ship any of the members vouchers, afterall how do they know who's who.
But then again they could com up with somthing, but it does not appear that they are that smart. Afterall who gives away $100,00.00 an hour?

They were foolish to begin with when they started giving out 40€ certs as I stated earlier. Surprised me that this lasted this long in the first place. Well, all good things must come to an end. Not all viral marketing is good practice.

Yeah, the only way to know if to track all newly opened accounts and cancel the voucher orders from these account. I doubt that they will spend the time and resources to do it.
