A-Club: 2 rooms booked - do nights count as double?

Hi,

I have 2 rooms booked under my name for 2 nights. Does anyone know if I will get credit for 4 nights towards status change, or just for the 1 room?

From the T&C I can't find the answer: http://www.a-club.com/en/terms-and-conditions.html

In terms of eligible expenses it seems to count for points.

7.4.3. Eligible expenses
Eligible expenses include:
- Hotel stay expenses for the Member and one other room (a maximum total of 2 paid rooms), on the condition that said rooms are checked-in under the Member's name, that the Member stays in one of said rooms, that the second room is occupied by at least one member of his or her family, and that the Member personally pays the charges related to the room or , in the case where 2 are booked, both rooms, upon check-out.

Thanks in advance.

Hi pcg,

About a year ago I had two rooms booked for the same night at an Ibis in Switzerland, and was told I would only receive points and credit for one of them.

Indeed that's what happened.... but only after I had filled in their website form and scanned and e-mailed the bill!!!

In the german version it says "das zweite Zimmer von mindestens einem minderjährigem Mitglied seiner Familie bewohnt". So let me insert this in the english version: " that the second room is occupied by at least one NON ADULT member of his or her family". So, if the room is filled with your in-laws no points, if it is your child not aged 18, points granted. I just imagine this fact being discussed at check-in and check-out at a hotel in e.g. french ... :-)

Here is the french version:

Les dépenses d’hébergement du Membre et d’une autre chambre (soit un total maximum de 2 chambres facturées), à condition que les dites chambres soient enregistrées à son nom, que le Membre séjourne dans l’une des dites chambres, que la deuxième chambre soit occupée par au moins un membre de sa famille et qu’il règle personnellement les frais afférents à toutes les chambres lors de son départ

There is no reference to the other member being underage, though I suspect that may be what they mean. It is going to be my parents accompanying me!

In this case the T&C refer to the expenses eligible. There is no reference in there to how the number of nights is calculated. I think other hotel programmes, restrict eligible nights to 1.

11277m's experience may mean I won't earn credit for the second room.

I have to say this is a very confusing programme... The TC are not clear (they actually contradict themselves at places), and now the german version says something different...

I only regret that I don't travel with enough budget or travel enough to make it worthwhile using another hotel programme.

Upps. I just checked other languages, as far as I can understand them (dutch, spanish, italian). I think, the german version is the only talking about a minor. I do remember some traslation mistakes in the early 2009 version of the conditions. There was even a question from the translator left in the german version.
Just had a two-room-weekend-stay with my in laws. Had read the german conditions before. As the in-laws are clearly no minors I didn't get into discussion with the hotel or A-Club. But I have only got credits for one room.

Did you pay for both, and do both rooms feature in your receipt? If yes, you should have received points from both rooms. In terms of nights, since you're platinum already, it wouldn't matter anyway...

Were the points added at check-out or did have to email asking for them?

Mhh, I paid with vouchers as well. just for making it not easy, the vouchers' worth was just like almost the cost for the 2nd room. If I deduct all taxes paid I received the correct number of points, and yes, I almost did not believe it, point were granted just one day after checkout. The first time ever.
