First Aerlingus Flight Coming up

Hello,

I'm flying my first Aerlingus flight, quite honestly due to price, I needed a one way ticket from BOS-LHR and the ticket was $278 one way vs $600 and i've already flown 75k miles on AA this year.

I'm curious a couple of things:

1. Annoyingly the flight BOS-DUB stops in SNN, do I actually have to get off the plane?
2. What are the chances of updated AVOD on that route?
3. Any other advice?

Chris

EI also flies N/S from BOS to DUB on most days, but you don't specify the day

You should have tried for that flight.

Also if your flight is in April and after, you would have opportunity of connecting in SNN to get over to LHR.

Getting of the plane is optional as far as I recall, you can do the immigration in DUB

AVOD -chances are rather slim on that route

Thanks for the reply. I'm flying this sunday on the 28th. Quite honestly i missed the fact it made a stop and i feel dumb, because i fly enough to not make dumb mistakes, that said i think the layover is shorter in dublin.

Might be worth a chance to ask in BOS if you could travel on the non-stop flight to DUB. you wont have lost out if they decline or are unable to switch you. Its been a long time since I worked a flight via SNN but back then you could stay onboard if you preferred during the stopover. But be aware that once everyone who has decided they want to stretch the legs has disembarked the door at the top of the jet way gets locked. There isnt a lot to do in SNN at that hour, but it probably beats sitting in your seat.

Chances are you wont have PTV's only 3 out of 9 EI aircraft have them. But the BOS-SNN sector is fairly fast, can be as little as 5hrs.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! Would you advise checking in online even though I'd like to fly on the earlier set of flights? or waiting?

To be honest I dont have much expertise with checkin procedures, but checking in online would probably lessen your chances of getting on the non stop DUB flight as the staff would have to un check you and then change ur reservation. If you are going to attempt to change to the earlier flight, you will probably be at the airport a little bit earlier so still be able to get your preferred seat on the later flight.

Basically, if it was me, I wouldn't do anything to lessen my chances of being able to change.

Thanks, just as a followup, they wouldn't let me go on the earlier flight at all without refaring the entire ticket. Neither flight was full, and i thought the service was good.
