Aer Lingus Status Match? / EI joining *A

Does any one have experience of Aer Lingus matching status? I have an American PLT and UA 1P, but am not sure if they will match this on their program. Before Lingus left OW there were no issues. Also, has any one heard of Aer Lingus moving toward a tie to UA or *A?

They've linked up to UA for codeshares on transatlantic routes and shorthauls out of Dublin and soon will be codesharing on some US domestic UA flights (and selling them) - but I doubt they'll be joining *A anytime soon.

EI are being a free agent (they codeshare with BA on certain routes as well) and will work with whoever suits them.

As for status matching for Gold Circle? I'm not sure why anyone would bother!

EI don't status match, not that there's any point, it's pretty worthless unless you fly EI every week. Even then the lounges are a joke.

The only time EI hand out Gold Circle for free is to get contract business.
