Easyjet check-in luggage question

Hello, i have some question regarding easyjet check in luggage regulations.

First of all, i will be traveling alone. I will have with me a hold-on handbag that will weigh around 7 kilos max but i think this is irrelevant.

After i select my ticket online i am given the choice to 'buy' more luggage. I want to check in 2 bags; one will be around 25 kilos and the other one 22. So do i choose the option: "Weighing in total up to 26kg" ?

I am confused about the "total up to" part. Together my 2 pieces of luggage will be 47 kilos. From what i understand from other threads you can take up to 8 pieces of luggage for a free total of 20 or 32.

So even if i buy my 2 bags i wouldn't be able to put in more than a TOTAL OF UP to 32? so 20 + 12? is this the case? Because buying a total of 50 is pretty darn expensive.

Buying luggage on Easyjet and other "low-cost" carriers is very expensive. Even on proper airlines, bags above 23kg usually attract a fee.

With Easyjet, you're looking at 2 bags totalling 47kg, which looks like £220 in baggage. When buying the bags, select "2 bags", then "upto 47kg"

That's if you're buying luggage up front. At the airport will be significantly more.

That is going to be extremely expensive.

You may wish to reconsider your hand luggage. easyJet has no weight limit for carry-ons; they must fit the dimensions (which from memory are 55×40×20cm, but please check) and you must be able to lift it into the overhead locker unaided. If you have a lot of dense items (e.g. books) these could go in a carry-on, reducing the expense.

Your handbag will have to go into your carry-on.

With that amount of luggage it may well be cheaper to fly with an airline that doesn't charge for the first bag. Most legacy carriers have a free luggage allowance, typically one bag weighing up to 20 or 23 kg.

And as the previous poster said if you are having to pay for some or all of your checked baggage then it makes sense to use your carry-on allowance to the full (and increase it by wearing a coat or waistcoat with big pockets and making maximum use of those pockets too!)
