Icelandair Saga class

Has anyone experienced Icelandair's New Saga class? It looks pretty good, and prices look good to the east coast. I've been thinking about booking for April..thoughts?

cheers

Prices are very good indeed. Note that the seating is more like domestic first class in the USA --- i.e. not lie-flat. I've found the service and food to be outstanding in Saga Class.

Tried Saga Class (and Icelandair) last week BOS/KEF/GLA/-LHR/KEF/BOS and also found it somewhat better than domestic F. Service on the transatlantic segments were much better than trip reports indicated on a number of forums. Ground service was also quite good. Considering the price, this is quite a good "way to cross".

Thanks for the info..

I read the only trip report I could find about the new Saga class and the fella ripped it to shreds. Bad service, cold unattentive crew, altogether a worthless experience. How did u find the new seats and leg room? Also was there power for a laptop? This trip report also stated that there was no food choice and what there was, was bland... The saga prices are very competitive GLA-KEF (Stopover 1 day) KEF-SFD then JFK-KEF-GLA via MAN in saga £1195 (April 2010) I can't find that anywhere else. I suppose if there were a good PE deal floating about then that would be worth considering but do u think that Saga class is way better than a cheap PE experience. I know Virgin's new PE is pretty good, but what are your thoughts?

thanks

In my case, there was a menu with three choices of entree, and service was not rushed, and the crew were friendly. The seat/legroom were fine, and the fact that I paid US 2200 for the trip made it a bargain compared to other carriers. Since I have not tried VS, no basis to make comparison. Also, I did not see powerpoint for laptop. Saga Class is certainly worth it for me vs. PE. Icelandair also has a PE type product that could have saved another US500.
