Thanks, I have just called reservation, they said they can change the ticket to a new reservation and send me the voucher by mail after they take off $150 change fee and $25 agent change hand fee. She also said that if I go to the airport, there will be $30 instead of $25. Is that true? I understand the $150.
How about the $25? Or $30? Thank you!

Not sure about that......I'm 1K and they didn't charge me any fees

The agency handling fee relates to "take ownership" of your reservation which is NOT initially made by the airline. The fee has always been there but in the past airlines dont enforce it diligently, now they do.

Airlines often have different fee schedules on services provided over the phone or in person. Naturally in person would cost more.

The $5 difference would mean whether you get your voucher at the spot (at airport) or you wait for it to come in the mail.

Thank you very much joediver and Happy.

Don't 1K have to pay the $150?
Look like this $25/$30 fee depends on the ticketing person you will see in the airport.

How use Delta eCredit?

Just rebooked my Delta TYP Bus Class tik, to a "throwaway" cheap ($82) flight, and got the balance of $1563 as an eCredit.

As an exercise, I tried to book a new flight online using the eCredit, but I can't see anywhere to enter the #. It seems like I have a choice between using a credit card OR an eCredit, but when I click "Use eCredit", it complains I haven't entered a cc #. There is a block in the cc section labelled "Number" -- could this be where I enter the eCredit #?

I'm a little bit leary about selecting both a cc (eg just saying "VISA") and an eCredit #, since I don't know at which point the amount will be charged.

It does say under eCredit "If the value of your eCredit exceeds the ticket price, you will be issued a new eCredit number and your credit card will not be charged". So It does seem that you have to enter a cc # as well check as the eCredit block.

Note that at no point does the system come up and tell me what my eCredit value is (since I haven't yet entered the #, tho I thought the value would show up somewhere after I logged in as a SkyMiles member).

Is there something I am missing -- is there a block specifically to enter the eCredit #?

Thanks

Update: got a letter a few days ago with a printed version of the Delta eCredit; letter also showed deduction of the $200 of fees, and the rebooking of the "throwaway" flight.

Go ahead and enter your credit card information. No worries there. You are still 4-5 steps away from final step and before final submission, you will see a summary of your ticket order at which point you can close the browser and move away from that page.

Thumbs up Hidden benefit

Not sure where to post this, and did not want to open a new thread. Recently playing around with the TY site and found out that I could book multi city trips using TY points. I had read on this site somewhere that only direct routing was allowed as was proven by the dummry res I set up. Now I wish I didnt burn my TY points (got Marriott cheques) as I could have picked up 34k EQM on AA (with the DEQM) for about 114k TYP.

Cancel "throwaway" flight, or just ignore it?

.. I'm not sure to do about the "throwaway" flight -- scheduled for next month.
I assume I can just ignore it, and they'll have me as a "noshow", cancelling that
tik, with no further involvement or additional penalties.

It's probably better to leave it be, viced calling and cancelling, so DL
won't have to process another change (which would _not_ result in another
eCredit).
