I was given a contract ID and coupon code for Alamo.
I have booked the car for Vegas but am looking to see if anyone (including Alamo employees) can tell me the origin of the contract ID. The coupon code is for a free upgrade!
I am a little hesitant in using the ID even though I plan on using the kiosk.

When is your res? I am off til Monday and can check it for you then. I'd call the counter for you and have someone check it for you but they are busy today and I'd get interupted about a dozen times before I'd finish the phone call. LOL
If you can wait til Mon nite for a reply...I'd be happy to make sure you are SAFE using it.

I was PM'd from another poster confirming the same.......
Please let me know what type of vehicle you are renting and if the upgrade was honoured.
There is still a question of moving up from "midsize" to "fullsize". (During the online booking it gave me a "standard" size from a "midsize".
for a Dec. rental in LIH... worked out very well and the upgrade posted immediately (went from compact to midsize -- ok since we know the mgr there). I know at this location the "usually " don't ask for the actual coupon... but "just in case" does any one have one. I know I can get a Costco one but don't know if it will work... their rate comes out to be about $150 more.

saw your post to another thread where you asked about the charge for additional driver. When I keyed in this code for our December LIH dates it came up with additional driver at not extra cost.
Good luck with your upgrade.
This id/coupon is returning some excellent rates for a one way rental for 9 days (LAS to SFO). Can any Alamo friends or others who have used this in the past confirm if this works? Just want to make sure I am not without another car....! Thanks in advance.
P.S: I will be making another reservation thru Costco just to be on the safer side.

I'm not finding Costco is having much better rates than the standard rates (using Enterprise which has always been the least expensive, in my experience).
Maui Viajes is a travel agency in Venezeula. This contract ID is specifically for their employees. Generally the reps in the call center have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to contract ID's or coupon codes.
Will you have success with this code? Perhaps, Alamo are getting a little more strict on code enforcement and also have been modifying some of these contract ID's if they get out of hand. Most people have no issues but I have been hearing more and more people having problems. Generally the longer a code is out there and the more people who call in about it, the likelihood of having an issue increases. You reservation may become invalid or you may be denied at the counter.
It is a good idea to have a backup with another company.
Has anyone had any success with the "Maui" code.... please post.
Thanks armeee for the code, I came across this post a couple of weeks back when planning a family vacation to Orlando. Anyway I had already booked a Minivan for the week at the cost of $370 + CDW prior to finding the post, when I went back and re-booked with the 'Maui' code itcame up as $249 INCL the collision insurance (no upgrade available from minivan though that wasn't a concern).
Anyway picked up the car this morning and was never questioned about the code, saved me $100's, thanks again!!!

Your welcome...... glad it is working for you.
I changed to Costco not only for the cheaper rate but I am hesitant to use a code that I may not be entitled to. Although the "Maui" code gave a great price and CDW, if I was in an accident would Alamo not cover me (CDW) cause I used a code that I had no business in using........ And that is what it comes down to.
