Europcar diesel gurantee.....

I'm booking a car to drive OW from NW France to the SE end over 6 weeks. Given the distance that will be covered, a diesel engine is a no-brainer.

Question: If I book a diesel category ("VOLKSWAGEN POLO DIESEL or similar"), will I actually get one? I looked at the extras and there's this extra-cost option "Diesel guaranteed (only available on EDMR, CDMR, EVMR, IVMR and SDMR)".

Is this a mistake or does Europcar not guarantee diesels?

Hey I was just wondering if you ever got an answer to your question ? I want to get the POLO Diesel but im not sure what diesel guaranteed is...

Not directly related but would assume something similar might be happening in France. Avis, at least in Germany, charges 3 euros extra per day for a diesel vehicle and they guarantee it...

Diesel is never guaranteed unless you request it. However in france, europcar fleet is based on a high percentage of diesel cars, not sure about the edmr.. a ivmr or idmr will get you a diesel...
