Autoeurope Scam - Delayed Flight
We had booked a Budget rental car through Autoeurope for our recent three week vacation in the US. Since our flight out of Frankfurt was delayed, we were rebooked to another flight to JFK, which caused us to arrive 3 1/2 hours late.
I called Autoeurope from FRA to make them aware of the delay and was told that this meant I had to cancel my reservation and rebook at a much higher rate. Just out of goodwill, they would discount that higher rate, but I still had to pay about 100 EUR more.
I then called Budget directly and was told that no action was needed since they would keep my reservation for 14 hours after the scheduled pick-up time and that delays happened all the time. We had no problems at all when we picked up the car.
I'm disappointed that Autoeurope is giving false information to proft from a situation like this. It's definitely recommendably to double check what they say.
