as the seats back onto the galery, do they still recline as far back as most other seats???

as i need the seat as far back as possible for a good sleep so i hope this is so....

see seating plan; http://www.evaair.com/NR/rdonlyres/D...0_372seats.jpg

i also hope as they back onto what im assuming to be the dinner preparing galery that they are not noisey, anyone know this answer also please

Gus is your man for this. But yes, it is noisy around meal times. But the noise is purposeful and for defined periods. If it's a long haul flight, I wouldn't worry as most of the time it will be quiet and often deserted. They typically leave a few snacks out, so you're handy for those.

And you won't have toilet noises!

I don't know about the recline. A long time ago, I checked for someone on FT. The recline was as per normal. But I can't remember which row or whether it was even a 747 I was checking. I think you'll be OK, but wait for a better informed answer if it's important.

No problem with seat kickers in that row.

bizclassboy in economy?

Based on Seat Guru Row 53 DEFG has limited recline.

I just got off the 747 last night, try upper deck, you get larger leg room and extra bag storage on the window side.

I really wouldn't trust seatguru in respect of EVA configs....

Yep, upper deck is excellent - 36" pitch for economy plus lockers for window seats, as you say. 85K is the absolute best Y seat that EVA has in my opinion. Window exit - so you get access to the aisle as well as the locker. Note this is better than 85A which is slightly more forward - so less elbow room and the locker is a little "behind" you.

Generally they seem reluctant to assign upstairs in advance to pax who are not gold (or silver?). Based on that, I think most people assign downstairs seats online and don't think to ask at check-in if any upstairs are available.

Sounds like you had a nice ride!

The fact that you flew in thr last ancient 747 in the EVA fleat doesn't mean you have to give the OP misinformation.

The EVA Premium Laural (Biz) seats are the type with a hard shell behind you and don't recline. They slide forward. There is absolutely no difference between the the last row and any other.

As to dinner noise, there is obviously sliighty more as you get towards the galley. But it was not a bother to me in that seat from LAX->TPE

I was pretty much sleeping for the whole time and didn't bother to eat

Not sure if that was misinformation. Perhaps lacking in detail but not many actually pay attention to EVA's mix of 747-400 pax only and combi models anyway.

I flew their 74E just a couple of months back and the upper deck was the old Super Biz seats, not the newer PL seats. I think only the 744s have upgraded the biz seats to PL class equipment. The old SB still beats the heck out of coach but they are a far cry from modern biz class seats.

I don't know where they deploy the 74Es anymore apart from the regional Asia flight. Hope they're not still used for long hauls.

How on earth can a question regarding ECONOMY seat information be read as BUSINESS seat information is beyond me.

I guess sometimes personal vendetta gets in the way of reading before posting.
