Ah I got that e-mail but completely missed the whole Virgin Galatic thing.

Virgin's Flying Club program lets members redeem 2 million miles (only flown on VS) for a Galatic flight.

Yet it says:
Quote:
Book a reservation for a sub-orbital spaceflight with Virgin Galactic.
See our beautiful planet from 63 miles up and experience the magic of weightlessness. No other airline will be able to match this offer.
(emphasis added)

2mil miles for a ticket worth $200k means each mile is worth $10. Beat that for redemption value!

Darn, only actual flown, can't use my Amex MRs for this.

Perhaps someone will trade on CC (2MM miles actual flown for 3MM miles via MR transfer).

Edit: I guess not. "A Virgin Galactic flight may only be booked for the Flying Club card holder who has earned the relevant mileage and not on behalf of or for another individual."

I've copied this thread across into Other Asian/Australian' forums, but since it's come back on topic (thanks guys ) I'll leave a copy of the thread in here as well...

You can get a faster response if you hit the little red triangle contained within each post ("Report Bad Post") to let us know that something is awry but it probably won't speed things up over Christmas

Out of this world

Ha, ha, ha! This offer probably is not going to get off the ground, so to speak, even though it sounds out of this world.

Don't any of you youngsters remember the Waiting List for A Flight to the Moon that Pan American Airways established 35 years ago? Well, I wanted to sign up then, and here I am, an old man now who is ready to fly up, but PAA is no longer around. Shall I take a chance on VA? Hardly, but you all can if you wish. Bon voyage!
