Eva Air JFK to TPE

Just looking for people's experiences on that nonstop flight. Any info is helpful. How does it compare to CX for instance.

You need to say which class you are considering... that can make a difference when comparing EVA to CX.

seats are pretty much the same. I'd pick CX over BR for food, service, and IFE.

in Y, its a very long flight. not sure you'd want to bother with stopping in HK after such a long flight.

I am not sure of the $ now. About 2 years ago the BR PE (lowest class) is the same as CX Y for HKG-TPE-LAX-TPE-HKG.

For 15hr+ PE is the way to go.

Not to hijack this thread, but I'm about to cash in some miles to get to Hanoi in J. EVA's itinerary is more convenient with a brief layover in TPE (vs CX in HKG). Haven't flown either in business, I know both get great reviews. The JFK -> TPE does depart pretty late though, 00:20. I wonder how much of that dinner I'll be able to enjoy.

I take this flight often. Always sleep first and have them save dinner for later. Never a problem!

aside from the food, they are pretty much the same seat in business class, so you won't need to worry too much about hardware differences.

Have to disagree. I make certain I can stay awake that long to help adjust my schedule to the destination. Arrives in TPE at dawn, so I want to go to sleep well into the flight and wake up as we land.

But each his own on this issue.

Back to the OP. if the Elite (Y+) seats price well they are way worth it. Separate cabin, wider seats, better pitch, better service ...

I also assume J meant biz which is the royal laural class for Eva.

What's there to disagree ?????
exwannabe is disagreeing with sleeping right after boarding - I'm with him you should stay up as late as you can to adjust for the 12 hour time zone change

Eat dinner, stay up 5-6 hours, sleep, wake up for breakfast service before landing
