Orlando airport - transfer to CO?

How hard/easy is it to transfer between CO Express and UA at MCO? I have a tight connection there, and I'm concerned. Do I need to go through security to transfer between CO and UA? How much time do I need?

I did this last summer. IIRC, you have to take the train from the UA satellite back to the main terminal then another train to the CO connection satellite. You should not have to clear security at MCO. Not sure what your connection time is, but the trains run frequently, I think it took me all of about 10-15 minutes, if that, to make the connection.

Since this has to do with two airlines at a particular airport, moving to the MCO forum for wider input.

thanks ... I have a few hours to kill in MCO it looks like. I was hoping I could easily run and standby for an earlier flight, but that only gives me 20 minutes to connect. Any suggestions for a good place to eat in the MCO airport? Or other things to do?

There is a lot of retail/food in the atrium where the Hyatt hotel is...some actual sit-down restaurants as well as fast food options.

Can anyone confirm that it's still possible to transfer between these satellites without exiting/re-clearing security? Are there any gotchas to watch out for?

Yes, you can move between UA and CO without having to clear security. What you do is ride the train from 30-59 gates back to the main terminal. Then you will switch to the train serving the 1-29 gates for your CO flight. The process shouldn't take more then 10-15 minutes as the trains run frequently and the trip only takes about a minute.

As for food, there are options at both the 30-59 and 1-29 satellite areas so you won't have to reclear security just to get food.
