I have no reservation confirmation !!

Hopefully this is the correct thread...

I booked a flight with VLM using Expedia (trading as Greenbe - because it
was cheaper then booking direct). VLM then cancelled the flight, but offered to reacomodate me on Aer Arran. I took this option and told both VLM and Expedia the date & time of the Aer Arran flight that I wanted to be on.

After 1 week, i had not received a revised confirmation from either Expedia or Aer Arran. So I call Aer Arran who tell me verbally that I am on the flight that i requested. BUT they wont give me the confirmation number or send me a confirmation. They say it must come from the travel agent.

Here are the replies:

Dearlfc84

Thank you for your email regarding your flight reservation.

As the booking is now under the airlines control we cannot send you an updated confirmation, in order to have this sent you will have to call the airline in order to provide them with your e-mail address.

I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause to you.

Thank you for using Greenbee.

Yours sincerely

Dear lfc84,
Thank you for your recent e-mail.
You will have to contact your booking agent as that is the e-mail address we have in your booking and that cannot be changed unless you can confirm Data Protection details ie address in booking, e-mail address in booking and the form of payment and last 4 digits of the credit card if any was used.
Kind Regards,
Angela

Thank You for your email.

I am very sorry to say that we do not have access to the airline's system to see the changes that they made. If the changes were made directly with the airline they must send to you the confirmation.

If you wish to discuss this with a customer services Representative we are available 24 hours on 0871 226 0808 (Calls charged at 10 pence per minute BT rate. Charges may vary from other networks.) or from outside the UK on +44 2030248211 (usual costs apply).

I am sorry that I could not be of more assistance to you.

Yours sincerely

Can you help me understand quick? Why'd you not just do that, and then they can give you your confirmation? Or am I missing something?
Other than that, my advice, annoy both of them so long so they give you what you want (e.g. with repeatedrepeatedrepeated phone calls. Let them give you a name of a supervisor and a CCrep's name, so you can focus the pain you cause) Works usually for me. Be friendly and firm and don't let them out.
That's my unprofessional but usually successful advice.
Or torture yourself through the terms&services section of both of them. Usually the CCreps don't know themselves sometimes
Good luck

I have done. See the replies from Greenbee above in the OP.

Sorry for your problems. I too read your initial post like the other poster and thought you should do the same as s/he suggested. I would get on the phone and escalate your request to supervisors.

That was probably your first mistake - "cheapest" is usually not "most economical."

i was passing through an airport with an aer arran ticket desk at the weekend with some time to spare. I went to the ticlet desk and they found my reservation and gave me the confirmation. i'm glad that a frustrating problem is sorted.

i only realised that aer arran had a ticket desk at the airport in question whilst i was there...i didnt know they operated from there.

ps. thanks to those who read this thread, and shared my rant and frustration. it made me feel better !
