Believe me... that is nothing new. Really sad that someone who herself complained about customer service before is so anti-customer.

I think she watches several websites. I'm convinced I got banned a few years ago after some things I wrote on TripAdvisor.

I worked around it - I got a new IP address. Most home routers obtain their IP address from their ISP using DHCP. The equipment at the ISP knows your home equipment by MAC address, and will retain the information in their ARP tables for a long time. So even if you power off for quite awhile, when you go back online you get the same IP. The answer - change the MAC address of your router. Most routers, even inexpensive ones, have a way to change your MAC address. On my D-Link, it is on the WAN settings page.

Received another nasty email from Sheryl. This must be a new low, even for her. My "sin" was to report that I've been banned on biddingfortravel. I cant imagine what she will do to me if I have said anything bad about her.

I love this woman. What an utter lunatic. Has anyone met her in person? I picture her as the crazy cat lady from the Simpsons (google and see if you're not familiar)

I was blacklisted because I reported a successful bid. Got to the hotel, the hotel was full, but they refused to "walk" me. I complained on her website. I received an email about how negative I was, and was blacklisted.

I will go anywhere else but her website.

Outdated board software, horribly rude and insane person running it. I am surprised the site is even still making any money at this point. A simple update to the site, better attitude towards customers would go a long way in keeping this site viable for the long term.

Not going to happen, mcgahat, as it's the same "advice" we've offered here for several years now. It's how she chooses to run her business (not calling it a community, as it's anything but a community), and we can only hope it will be her downfall some day.

I used to be a moderator on the site and supported it with my time, efforts, AND money, and am sorry I supported such a phony.

I too have been banned.

I have been a member since 10/07 on BFT and made 35 posts including hotels, cars, packages and flights. I also posted my sisters winning bids too. Back in the summer, I got an email from Sheryl inquiring what it would take to get me to use the AB links. I replied that I was using another site that allowed me to save money for my 4 children's college funds. I had not heard from her again until this week when she banned me. I only posted winning bids and never violated any policies. I never spoke about the site (good or bad) on any boards. Today I will begin.

I have told may friends and family over the past year about BFT. I have now forwarded her nasty email to no less than 20 people who I had referred to the site. Most are shocked, many have laughed. None will be using her links in the future.

In the meantime, I will lurk around the other 2 or 3 sites that offer similar services and offer no contributions on winning bids. And if I need additional data from BFT I will just switch over to my laptop or one of the other 6 computers in the household that does not have the IP address banned. She actually thinks she is punishing me when she only is hurting herself. It is beyond belief that this woman can be so ignorant. She will cut off her nose to spite her face (which looks like it can hold 1/6 slice of sushi).

Here is my correspondence with her and her reply.

You are not welcome on BiddingForTravel.com. Trying to gather support for yourself and whatever other goals you have by sending messages to other people is not going to change that.

Sheryl,

I am banned from BFT. Why? I did nothing to violate any rules. I posted my last Buffalo car rental on 12/02 and then I was banned.

You had emailed me back in July about using the links from amazing bargains. I had replied that I was using the (XXXXXXXX - another website) because I am saving for 4 children's college funds. I advised that I would occasionally use your link. You never responded to that email. Surely, you are not banning me for not using your link? Are you? I am really confused.

There is a lot of chatter on the internet about being banned for not using links. I thought that I was doing the right thing by making contributions to the board through posts instead of just lurking around.

Thanks in advance,

Sending messages to your friends will not change Sheryl stance. But if you feel strongly enough, you may want to send messages to the owner of A-B link. A-B has an affinity program with BFT, complain to the owner of A-B about poor customer service and her underhanded way of running a business may make them re-think their affinity program with BFT. This will hurt BFT since Sheryl is obessed with deriving revenue with the A-B link.

That won't help - last I heard A-B domain is registered by Sheryl or close affiliates. Check out the domain name registration - also in Houston as far as I know.

BiddingforTravel.com

I got banned from the site for a time a couple of years ago. I posted a successful bid, but forgot to use the AB link. I was shocked, but apologized and she let me back in. I think it is a good source of information for bidding on Priceline.com, but there is opportunity for improvement.
