Hotels.com US Site Purposely Conceals Full Cost of Rooms
Those of us who use hotels.com are used to the final price with fees and costs not being revealed until nearly the end of the process.
It turns out that they already have the interface that would show these fees and costs at the earliest phase, they just choose to keep if from Americans.
If you want the more informative interface - got to uk.hotels.com. Then log into your US account, so the prices will be shown in $$, even though you are still on the UK site.
Once you have done that, when you do a search, each item will show the base price as on the US site, and underneath will be a higher price followed by the phrase "including taxes and fees." This dual price disclosure also appears next to the price for each room type on the room type selection page.
