Rather confused by this... BA doesn't fly domestically within Australia! Do you mean QF?

In LAX, the oneworld lounge in the TBIT terminal is the choice:

There are links to Qantas lounge information in the QF forum (with a little cheat sheet regarding access):
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qanta...s-notices.html
Qantas Club information

Australian Lounges - Domestic and International

QP-D = Domestic Qantas Club (Pub ) - for QC Members (inc SG & WP), OWS, OWE and J
QP-I = International Qantas Club - for QC Members (inc SG & WP), OWS, OWE, J and F
QP-JD = Domestic Business Lounge in BNE, SYD and MEL - for WP, OWE and J - must be travelling on QF or JQ
FL = International F Lounge in SYD and MEL - for WP and OWE
T(X) = Terminal in SYD - T1 (Int), T2 (Dom), T3 (Main QF Dom terminal)

Overseas Lounges

New Zealand - International Lounges in Auckland
US and Hawaii - Lounges in New York, Los Angeles and Honolulu
South Pacific - Lounges in Fiji and Noumea
Europe - Lounges in London and Frankfurt

So your itinerary on QF 1, in F, on 31 Dec 2012 might look like:

31DEC12 15:00-17:00 SYD T1 FL - able to guest X

And the ongoing The (QF FF/QP) OW Lounge Info Thread is well worth a read.

Flying QF business class in Australia will get domestic departure lounge access. Your 8 year old son will be allowed access with you.

In SYD you have to make your way from the international terminal to the domestic terminal. In the international terminal follow the QF domestic transfer signs. Turn right exiting immigration, with your checked bags, to the QF domestic check in area in the international terminal. Drop off your checked bags here then get the QF airside bus over to domestic.
