OW Lounges in BKK

According to One World official website, there are 5 different lounges can be access by OW airlines.

https://www.oneworld.com/ffp/lounge-...ungeaccess/BKK

I am a OWE flying MH J from BKK to KUL, what would be the best lounge to visit?

The Thai Airways Royal Orchid/Silk Lounges is also on the OW website, co operate with QR, is that access for QR only? on paper, it might be the best lounge as BKK would sure be Thai airways' home base.

You won't get access to the Thai lounge as its third party. In any event not missing much, for a home lounge its not the best.

Cathay lounge would be the pick, subject to opening hours.

Try the CX or JL lounges. A BA forum description of the lounges is available here:

CX lounge hands down. Plus it will be nearer to the E concourse where MH birds are parked.

CX lounge is better than Thai lounge anyway, despite it being home base.

Cathay lounge, no doubt about it. The CX lounge has a staffed bar, and the bartender will happily concoct something tasty for you.
disadvantage: No showers. MH will give you an invitation for the 3rd party 'Louis Tavern' lounge (there's several in BKK), which has showers but food and drink options are inferior to what you'll get in the CX lounge.

The TG lounges are not oneworld lounges. You won't be able to enter with OW status but need an invitation from QR.

When I just started flying to BKK with RJ,I tried all the options available to me: TG,QF (before it closed),JL and CX (before it was upgraded). TG was hopeless (QR/RJ pax get sent there by default),QF was good for a shower,JL was good for being empty, but nothing else.

CX lounge really beats all the lounges mentioned above. As for MH lounge (Louis Tavern),it's also hopeless,I left 2 minutes after entering.

CX lounge is by far the best, I just wish they had showers. The Thai business class lounges are pretty bad, tatty furniture, dirty, crowded. The Thai first lounge is lovely but again that is lounge for *A first class passengers.

I guess because HKG is only 3 hours away from BKK, CX decided that people doesn't really need a shower.... although Bangkok is really really hot....

Certainly true, also I don't think there is much vacant real estate to fit in the showers.

Showers in the Thai business lounge are gross. In the Thai Royal First lounge, amazing. Thai Royal First lounge makes it into top 15 lounges in the world while the business lounges are really poor.
