So the Beeb has got you under scrutiny, ehh? As you indicate, a lot of folks would pay oodles to be in your shoes. But evidently this is not the "good" publicity that everyone craves, but the "bad" publicity, right?
I would just say, hang in there. Study the famous Tylenol PR situation for lessons. Don't let the media rattle you. I would also get advice from an expert who has been where you are and who advises clients with PR disasters on their hands.
But why would I take 20 Tylenol when I only need to take 2 Aleve?

I thought Liv Tyler was very good as Arwen in the Lord of the Rings -The two towers, a fine and subtle performance I thought. I hope she goes on to more acclaimed acting work.
Good Job, as my friends over the pond are want to say.

Liv Tyler is indeed a fine piece of work. Her two ... I'm not sure I'd call them "towers," but still quite fine!

Is Liz Taylor still alive and kickin'? You are right when you say she had some pretty fine looking jewelery. All those diamonds on all of her fingers did seem quite cumbersome.

Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes was a fine track, but I much prefer the electrifying accordian performance in The Boy in the Bubble.

That Boy George is always in trouble, isn't he. He'd do better to stay off the illicit drugs and keep his head down, then he might avoid clashing with the law!

Boy George wasn't in The Clash, that was Mick Jones. He fought the law, and the law won.

I read those when I was little. I still love the image of George painting that apartment with the jungle scenes and the owner coming back and flipping out.
It could have been a legal issue but in the storybook, George paints the scenes over and since he can paint with both hands and feet, he has a great advantage.
I also loved the one where he gets into the ether at the hospital. It starts out with his swallowing a puzzle piece if you recall.
Those were fantastic and I'm glad you enjoyed them as much as I did.

When I'm in Texas, I aways find it funny, that Wal Mart, sell George Clothing. This originated in ASDA, which is a supermarket that Wal Mart bought in the UK. A few months ago I bought a George shirt, from Lubbock Wal Mart, a little piece of home from home. Made me laugh. The check out girl thought I was out of my mind. It wasn't a jungle print shirt though, blue and grey stripes.
Cheers Larry.
(PS Two days to my next trip to Texas, must check out those cool styles in Wal Mart on Thursday.)

I'm more than a little worried about what you say. Here's why.
If they refuse to sell your friend George clothing, in this country they could be held liable for discrimination. That's the way it is here. It may be okay to discriminate in London but London isn't Lubbock.
As you point out, if this continues, they may end up wearing stripes (in jail). They *must* sell jungle scene clothing to *anyone* who has the money to buy it.
Would you pass a friendly word along and keep someone from having serious legal trouble in these United States?
Thanks, bud!

Well, if I can't buy gorgeous clothes here in the good old USA, I'll cart myself right over to London, as you suggest. If you say stripes are the in thing now, that is what I shall buy. I'm not sure what the Hubbell telescope has to do with any of this but I assume it's an important part of marketing

You're scoping out opportunities to sell your Cartwright branded striped designer clothing in the UK?
I'm glad it's done so well in the Hubbell test market. I think you must have a great concept because you are doing so well.
I have a question as to your price point. Do you think that the cost of transportation and duties will eat into margins and make this unprofitable? Will the Brits pay for the extra freight and so forth?
I would go slowly. Consider test marketing first. And don't give up -- lots of times, success comes to those who keep at it.

Well, I'm an (expat) Brit, and since you're willing to pay, I'd be glad for the chance to go along to your fete and hold forth. I'll take it fast or go slowly, anyway you like!
Just one question, where should I keep my ratchet for best chance of success?

OMG, I want to buy front row seats to this. Seeing you holding richard's feet would be a priceless thing. I'm not sure what you're going to do with that racket though. I hope it won't injure anyone or you'll never sell tickets again to anyone. I think I'd leave the racket out of the show entirely. Just go with the flow, you know.

Wow, Richard's feet will be dancing on the base line, when he takes his racket to Wimbledon. I love a good game of tennis, and finding out Richard is good enough to enter the All England Championship at Wimbledon is brillient. I bet lots of people from FT will buy tickets. As you say I hope he doesn't injuure himself.
I can't wait for June to come around. I'll defininately be there.
