Wow.....we just finished watching the match. Wow, best match I've ever seen as an adult. When Andy chipped that shot in the second set tiebreak (without charging), he gave Roger back the match. He was soooo close to having been ahead by 2 sets. I thought with that that Roger would win in 4 sets and that it was all over. I assumed Andy would be so dejected that he'd kill the rest of the match. Was I wrong. I've never seen him so determined and in control. Roger only broke him ONCE and that was of course when Roger was ahead in the 5th 15-14. I was rooting for Andy as I was annoyed by the pretty boy, Bill Tilden wannabe look at the beginning of the match. There was Andy looking like an athlete and Roger looking like Anna Wintour's boy toy. So Andy got my support.
That said, Roger lifted his game when he needed to and that 5th set was an epic set, one for the imagination.
Congratulations to Roger for winning an epic Wimbledon final, the best since 1980. Maybe even better than 1980 but it's way too soon for me to come up with that comment. While not a better match, one of my favorite matches was seeing Johnnie Mac whip Jimbo's butt in the '84 finals.
15 grand slam wins. Excellent! Now let's see if he can catch up with Margaret Court.

Congrats to the King. I was in Switzerland for the beginning of the match, and I could not find a bar showing it on TV? The only place that had a TV with the match on was McDonalds!

next time, make please another detour to Wengen - and I promis for Wimbledon tennis in HD and another cheese fondue on the balcony in face of the Jungfrau (much better than a Bic Mac).

Thank you Rudi and if I had been thinking correctly when I made my travel plans, I would have contacted you.
But don't worry, I already had a proper lunch and didn't eat at McDonalds. They are nice enough to let you just sit and watch TV and use the free WiFi.

When Andy didn't win the second set (squandering four set points-including that miss hit you describe) I turned to my son and said, that's it Federer is going to win this.
BUT, I didn't expect the battle to unfold the way it did. I feel for Roddick. Serve broken only ONCE over the 5 sets. I hope his confidence grows after Wimbledon. I want to see him back!
