I'll be out of the office much of today so I can't finish watching the match, but it looks like Nadal might go down ... he's down 2 sets to Youzhny.

I guess Sharapova didn't object because her match with Venus started on court 3 but ended on Centre Court.

Very true with NBC. Couldn't see Venus' match this morning. Couldn't see Nadal's match this morning. ESPN was showing Lleyton Hewitt.

Unless your name is Rafa Nadal. Goes to show that the All England Club won't put up with a blog in which he criticizes them. He's really gotten some bad breaks. Putting him in Court 2 today? They really have no respect for him.

Serena Williams lost by 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to Henin, who is chasing her first Wimbledon title to complete a career Grand Slam. But Williams was not overly impressed by the play of her opponent, saying that she would have beaten Henin if she had not been injured.

What a brat. Losing gracefully I guess is a challenge for Serena. Henin certainly wasn't at her sharpest as I watched that match but the loser of a match belittles herself by knocking down the win of her opponent.

I loved seeing Venus tear up Maria. Maria can't seem to beat the top players in grand slams but how nice her dress was supposed to represent a swan. I guess that's her priority? Where was her mental fortitude? Venus played a solid game! I knew she'd have an easy quarterfinal and she did according to the scores I just saw online.

So, which Williams sister wasn't brought up right?

I really try to cheer for Serena and Venus, but time and time again, their actions and especially those of their father make it so difficult to do so. Yes, Justine has had her moments, but they have been few and far between, and for the most part, I think she conducts herself very well. Those two (or three if you count Richard) bozos have time and time again come across so badly. Just when I think they have taken a PR course and are turning the corner, they do something else!

40% Serena? Come on. It was obvious you were not 100%, but please give your opponent a little credit.

Off topic, I was very surprised that this was Justine's first win over Serena that was not on clay.

I would like to be educated here. I haven't seen any references to their father in years, other than a couple shots of him in the crowd when he is around. And what are these dastardly deeds of the sisters? When they're healthy, few people are better tennis players. I don't know that much else matters. So, Serena could have been a little more diplomatic. It doesn't seem like that big a deal to me. If they were doing too much outrageous, it seems to me that the press would be ripping them to shreds. They make women's tennis interesting to watch. I pull for them at every opportunity.

Richard Williams is a nutcase. His ex-wife Orinda Price would rather sit behind Maria's father yesterday than anywhere near Richard. Look for his bashing of one of the most respected chair umps in a link on this very thread.

With both sisters, there is anger among fans at their lack of dedication to tennis. Fashion and entertainment over tennis. If they weren't that good, nobody would give a darn.

Then there is Indian Wells 2001. Venus withdrew from a semifinal match against Serena and the fans were furious. They paid good money for those tickets. Well they along with their father assumed it was all about racism. The WTA will be making Indian Wells mandatory and the Williams' are fighting it. http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/news?slu...ters&type=lgns

I try to focus on the game only and root for them. If you do a search, you'll see why I call Justine a cheat and how that stems back from a match with Serena at the french in 2003.

If these women played so-so tennis, nobody would give a darn about them.
