Old news...he already melted down with that ridiculous on-air speech. He is possessed by the demon 'Moronus-Idiot'. Even Father Merrin can't save him now.

Jindal has shown little leadership so far as governor of LA. Recently, the state budget was passed and at his insistence, higher education and health care in the state was decimated. He insisted on drastic cuts, while at the same time, promoting (and the legislature passed) a tax cut for the wealthy- those with excess itemized deductions-. LA is one of the states in the best financial condition in the country. However, when the budget was proposed, he (he is on the Revenue estimating Conference) made sure that oil prices were budged at $49 per barrel, even though it is close to $70 per barrel. Interestingly, if oil prices had just been budgeted just $10 per barrel more, no cuts would have been necessary. Also, he refused to accept stimulus money for the umemployed. I don't think Jindal will be re-elected in 3 years (I'm even hearing this from staunch Republicans).

I think we need to elect fewer governors to the White House. As a whole, Carter, Reagan, Clinton and Bush 43 were a decidedly mixed bag, even though together they served for 28 of 32 years. While I think being chief executive of a state can be valuable experience, IMO it's overvalued vs. other types of experience and has some significant gaps, like foreign policy (see: Sarah Palin). You also don't typically have to defend a voting record like someone coming up through Congress does. That's how we got Willie Horton used against then-Gov. Dukakis...they needed something to attack. You know your governor is contemplating a run for the WH if he stops approving paroles or early releases for anyone.
Business experience is even more overvalued. Some of it is fine, but if it's the main thing on the resume you're in for trouble. Businesses aren't democracies with checks and balances. The Bush 43 resume was business-heavy before being governor in a state where the job wasn't given as much power as elsewhere. I think it showed through with frequent bits of my-way-or-the-highway that ultimately broke down well before the second term ended.

While I criticized the speech he gave as well, there is nothing remotely "idiot" about Gov. Jindal. He is without a doubt one of the brightest individuals holding elective office in the U.S. today. Take him to task over policy positions (i.e. aceflyer2), but saying he's a moron because you didn't care for a speech or like him personally - I don't get that

Because he comes across as a moron spewing gibberish when giving major speeches. His beliefs are also moronic, however I afford him every right to have those beliefs, provided he does not hold major public office.
The only thing missing from his resume is a silly catch-phrase or wink like Palin.

I think Jindal may be 'intellectually' bright, but that's where it stops. This guy has done things to LA that will take decades to repair. He has shown no leadership. Decimating health care and education while giving the rich a tax cut are not the kinds of actions of a 'smart' leader. He says health care (mainly affects the poor) and higher education must be cut now because the stimulus will run out in 2-3 years. How does he know what the state's financial condition will be in 3 years? If the economy is growing and oil prices remain high, we'll have a budget surplus then. In fact, if oil prices remain at the present level, we'll have a several hundred million dollar surplus this year that can't be used for operations (can you imagine a budget surplus while decimating health care and education?) Again these are NOT actions of a 'smart' leader. These are actions of a politician and not a smart one. I'm hearing many Republicans say they will not vote for him in 3 years. I would not be surprised to see Blanco run in 3 years and win in a landslide. If the Republicans place their hopes on him (at the national level), they are surely desparate.
