New Zealand trip
First attempt at international travel. Flights are pretty cheap in mid-to-late November ($1,500 out of DTW to WLG). Precise dates are Nov. 13 through 30 via Virgin Australia.

Any other recommendations? Your help is appreciated.

Are you planning to fly in and out of WLG? What do you like to do?

Yes, in and out of WLG. I'd like to spend a lot of time outdoors. I've plotted a rough outline of the trip. Figure it's easiest to book now and finalize plans later? Basically want to know if I should try and wait for a better deal than $1,500?

AIRNZ was was at 1100 from west coast hubs (LAX, SFO), normally they tack on $150 for further destinations. So you should be roughly the same via them.

If you want more advice on WLG, let me know, I lived there for 3 years.
