Discount Travel E-Cert

Can Travel E-certs be used to pay the taxes on an award ticket?
I'm planning on booking an award ticket to MNL in Feb. One of the two E-certs I have is enough to pay the taxes and fees on the ticket. (PK271) Anyone done this?

Yes.

E-Certs will pay anything. However, be aware that any minimum-fare requirements are NOT met by taxes, only the base fare.

Separate question that's good for the thread title: Can I use more than one $100 off Signature visa benefit cert for one flight?

I have a Discount Travel E-Cert (PK269). Term and condition 6 on the back states "This E-Cert may not be combined with any other coupon, E-Cert, discount, promotional fare also known as web fare, ticket designator/reference code, bonus, WorldPerks Air Travel Award, group fare, or special status type fares such as: government, standby, military, unpublished companion, VUSA, agency/industry discount, children, free, no-value, unpublished, student, joint, corporate discount, fares filed by rule or any other fares/tickets which may later be specified by NWA with or without notice."

No... Discount Travel E-cert Do not pay for the tax!!!
They only cover the fare before tax.. so that the tax will be lower since the fare reduced.

But if you have ECV.. it will work
