Exclamation Master A330-200 (A332) Best Seats Thread [Merged Threads]

Just wondering if anyone has been in WBC on the A330-200 (for the benefit search engine: 330-200 A330-200 332) and offer an opinion of which is best? I notice there's a mini cabin behind door 2 but that's too close to the back. Seems the starboard side may have slightly more room than the port side?

I'm flying NRT-BKK-NRT in the puppy. FWIW, no wonder Z inventory is hard to get for that route with the 32 WBC seat 332 replacing the 65 WBC seat 744.

I decided to avoid the 332 for the trans-Pacific flights and am going for 742 service LAX-NRT-LAX. Hopefully will get 85 or 86 seat when allocation opens.

The problem with seatguru is that they do not as yet have the seating chart for the A330-200. The A330-300, yes, but NW's website shows a slightly different layout in WBC for the A332, specifically the location of the galleys. I, too, would love some more feedback on this topic.

A332 Seating Question

My mom and I are traveling WBC on the 332 From SEA-NRT in Dec. We have seats 1-C/G both ways. Acording to Seatguru.com those are great seats on the 333, but I'd think they would be pretty much similar on the 332. Has anyone flown that Eqp who can tell me these are decent seats. We're connecting to NW17/18 to and from HKG on a 744 and I know we have great seats on that. Any help would be appreciated.

Best COACH seats in A330-200?

I have several flights to Asia next week but am flying Y on an A330-200. Any idea as to best seats in coach? Seat map at NWA suggests that 10C and 10G would be great. Can anyone provide advice?

Seat map still not available at seatguru.com.

Thanks!

Best WBC and coach seats on A330-200

I just scoped out the A330-200 on three flights this past week. In my opinion, by far the best WBC seats are in rows 1-4: first to be served, less foot traffic, less noise from coach. The galley between rows 4 and 5 is used for coach and business, so there is a lot more FA traffic for rows 5 and 6.

The 332 is a beautiful ship, but I think the split of WBC into two cabins was a mistake. Also, there is little to separate row 6 (WBC) from row 10 (coach). In defense of NWA, there was probably not any other option because of the positions of the aircraft doors. Interestingly, every WBC seat was filled on the A332s (as was the 744 from NRT-DTW today)!

Best coach seats have to be: anything in row 10 (bulkhead), 11C and 11G (no seat in front of you), and anything in row 29 (bulkhead). Most foot room in seats 11C, 11G, 29A, 29B, 29H, and 29J.

PDX-NRT 15DEC04, seat 2C, posted on the itinerary section of this site. I'd suggest posting your itinerary there.

Happy travels!

Since many of us are flying in December, maybe we should start a questions list for the 330-200 it which people can ask questions and then those of us going on the trips can try to answer them. Let's begin. What do we want to know?

Is the mini-cabin or the front cabin of WBC better?
How does the front row of coach compare to the others in coach?
What are chances of getting your meal request in the mini-cabin?
How many flight attandents are dedicated to the 1st WBC cabin? The 2nd? Or do the flight attendants work both?
Where is the in-flight snack basket placed?

Just got back from SAT-MEM-SEA-NRT-SEA-MEM-SAT last week. Generally good flights. I can answer a couple of the questions:

Is the mini-cabin or the front cabin of WBC better? Seems like the front cabin is better. the mini-cabin is behind the boarding door and is only separated from coach by a partition. More traffic, more noise, etc.

How many flight attandents are dedicated to the 1st WBC cabin? The 2nd? Or do the flight attendants work both? I think the front cabin had four working.

Where is the in-flight snack basket placed? For both segments it was at the front galley on the right side. Selection of fruit, Toblerone bars and chips. Water bottles also on the nrt-sea flight.

I was in 2C both flights and this seems like a good seat, along with 2G. row three in the middle is also good, as there is noone behing you.

The new seats were fine, but the shell seemed a bit narrow when fully reclined. I didn't care for the angled lie-flat position, but there are many adjustments that can be made.

AVOD was great, but had the same selection of movies both directions.

The purser complained about the loss of seats from the 747. Like half the WBC seats and 100 less overall. Outbound had 3 or 4 seats empty, return looked full. The WorldClub attendant said they could jusiify a -400 on the route, so not sure what NW's plans are.

If you have any other questions, I can try to answer.
