yeah, thanks - looking at the thread about the WP Visa EQMs it became clear that I couldn't possibly have gotten them this fast. I also looked back through my email and found the message saying that they were giving me 5k EQMs (got 10k, lol).

Now it'll be super-easy to make silver (for all the good that's likely to do me).

15K is nice but......we're headed to the "Worst of both worlds"

It was great surprise to receive 15k eqm but as a plat member who is wondering what next year will hold for us,I'm more interested in having current benefits retained than gaining new surprise benefit.

Delta has already taken away unlimited "award ticket fee change waiver", reduced flights for complimentary first class hot meals and reduced worldclub amenities. Coming soon will be the dismantling of nwa.com of which I am not looking forward to. Delta's view of "best of both worlds" seem to always be in favor of the airlines than passengers as we've been shelled worst common denominator of many benefits..... It's really "Worst of both worlds"

Just to clarify my earlier posts, count me in as another Asia-based NW Plat Elite with no love to show for it.

Agreed.

Do you have any suggestions on how to increase revenue for less cost? That would be helpful to DL/NW.

We all understand airlines need to generate more revenue these days. It is just too much to sneak these 'enhancements' into promotional emails, zig-zag on important issues, have no communicated plan for how the program will look next year (just 5 months away), give miles out like candy, inflate mileage levels beyond imagination (have you seen the report on 595k miles for TATL BE?), botched merger of check-in counters, reports of terrible customer service and so on.

I really like the old NW hubs, the in-flight product and unlimited upgrades but just about everything in the FF program has changed for the worse, without communication and at a time when we were already locked in for the year. A one-time EQM hand-out does not change that. I'd rather see a quality (or should I say "best in class") product with a good loyalty program and pay somewhat more in fares than this nickle-and-diming at every turn, even for elites.

Any examples in the airline industry in the last 5 years where that strategy worked?

Even Jet Blue is doing extremely poorly - they have arguably the best product - they don't dare raise ticket prices to increase profitability.

My intention is not to directly critic specific posts - but hope that we can collectively offer suggestions that drive customer satisfaction, for little expense, with a quick timeline, and helps DL/NW be more profitable or gain market share over the competition. The overall win-win strategies. I can probably come up with a lot of win-lose, nickle and dmie strategies though...it's just less risky.

There are 2 Asian based wp, 1 platinum,1 gold here who also got nothing. We felt like being a stepchild. If things getting worse, we plan to join star alliance (may be UA) after burn all the miles and TCVs.

How is that any different?

They run targeted promotions as well. Look at the Double EQM promotions just for Australian residents with UA. UA's DEQM/TEQM Extended Until October 15, 2009 for Australian/NZ Residents

You would have missed out on that one as well. But, if it makes you happy - do it.

I got 'em too....

Wow. Totally stoked. I'm a newbie here and only Silver, so I'm not sure what I did either. Just hope they don't suddenly up the level of qualifying to 35k :-)
