Yikes. Not another 320/319 writeoff accident. I hate to hear of damages to the A320's and its reduction to its fleet. As chances of getting additional 320's added to NW/DL fleet is virtually nil, every such incident only reduces this fleet type. Bummer....

The Aviation Herald writeup also mentions 3.3G acceleration. Wonder if there was windsheer? or if maybe the plane just reached the runway ahead of the pilot?

Interesting... Was traveling DEN-MSP-ATL and was supposed to be in 4A on 1590. I walked up to C36 right as the agent was calling for anymore passengers connecting in MSP so she could rebook them. I ended up getting put on Delta metal DEN-ATL and got 6A on the Delta flight so all was good.

Still waiting for original routing credit to post after my 2nd e-mail to Delta.

The transaction with the agent was so quick that I didn't bother to ask why the flight had been cancelled. Thanks for posting this OP.

Happened 4 days ago, the Aviation Herald account is the first news of it.

Not listed in FAA's preliminary incident/accident data.

Maybe we can mount the tail skags from the 727's in the boneyard as a workaround?

Maybe they could do a WorldPerks auction?

Since our miles pretty much are worthless now in buying plane tickets, maybe we could instead buy some plane parts.

Depending on the age, my bet is, it will be repaired.

One word... "bondo"

Maybe two more words... "black primer"

Seriously... glad no one was injured. Hopefully, the investigation will show that the pilot did a good job of recovering from some sort of situation such as wind shear.

My bad - I originally started a new thread and did a search, nothing showed up and I didn't see this thread.

That's a pretty good idea. Invite SkyMiles members too! I'd buy a FC seat!

www.widgetheads.net says the plane is 18 years old. I think it really needs to be kept as DL/NW does not have the time or money to go and order a new plane. Just pay the money to repair it and move on!

Do you have inside info that DL does not?

I think this was mentioned last week. Not sure if on the NW or DL forums.

No. It is all online at www.widgetheads.net

I think the person behind the site is a DL employee though
