Are you jumping ship from NW/DL? Staying with NW/DL? [POLL]
Let's see what the general consensus of the board is (although it's not too hard to gather from the likes of the recent threads).
You're allowed to select more than one option, but please keep choices reasonable. E.g., don't select both "I'm staying with NW/DL" and "I've quit flying cold turkey." Votes are private, so no one--including us moderators--can see your selections.
This poll will close in 30 days.
Please keep discussion on this thread to one's reasoning in the poll only. Any discussion regarding the merger etc will be deleted as off-topic. Thanks.

Good idea, Slippahs. I'm waiting to see how NW platinum elites are treated by the new DL. If they treat me well (usable SWUs, >75% upgrades on domestic flights), maintain a strong hub in DTW, and don't nickel-and-dime us too much along the way, then I'll stay with them. If not, then CO-UA are an appealing alternative combo.
I just did my match on UA as a back up, should have enough eqms this year to keep PE on NW, and 1p (maybe 1k) on UA, I've got one foot on each boat here, and if one sinks, i'll get on the other one. With that said, if both programs are still fairly equal by the end of the year, i'm staying with NW, and dumping UA.

I don't really have other choices out of AZO. It's either NWA to DTW or AA to ORD. There's a few more options from GRR, but in the winter, even that 45 minute drive can often turn into a nightmare.

Create or annihilate...?
Frequent flyer programs can create loyalty or destroy it.
Over the last few years, Delta has pretty much wiped out any loyalty or goodwill that they had built with me over the previous 15+ years. Where I used to go out of my way to give my business to Delta, I now will go with the lowest fare and/or what is most convenient for me.
Through its actions, Delta has encouraged me to sample the likes of FL, WN, F9 and B6 and I've learned that most of the LLCs have a pretty good product. Yes, I will continue to fly NW/DL, but only when the price is right and the timing works best.
How about another choice? "Will fly Delta only when necessary."

How about adding a selection for those of us that are bailing out of CO to NW? The vast majority of my flying as a CO plat is with NW and DL. With CO leaving ST, I'm staying with NW/DL, as they give me far better options out of HSV than CO and *A will.
Another possible option: "I am no longer actively consolidating my flying on a single airline, instead using whichever airline has the best price/schedule for a given itinerary"
I am planning on diversifying in the next year to pick up status on one of the star carriers. Realistically as long as NW/DL flies DCA-DTW, I am going to be at least a Silver elite on segments... but I would like to have the flexibility to fly CO/US/UA as well.
I thought about switching to *A but the upgrade with miles seem to be quite complicated and personally do not want to be with United.
CO seems to be a rational alternative to me but the first impression was very bad as I got stuck in EWR for 6 hours the first time riding with them, tired and helpless and no GA / any staff attempted to take a proactive role to assist customers.
At the same time I am having good experience with NW, so I guess I stuck with them
As my main interest is TPAC premium awards, I am off to *A. The fact that CO is moving the same way makes the move a little easier to take; I prefer not to fly UA. The fact that the merged DL program will be so stingy and expensive makes it easier still.

I fled DL once before, in the Robby Boy Borden / www.saveskymiles.com days. Now JeffBob and his band of pirates make Robby Boy look like a cub scout. I have had it with those thieving cutthroats.

Done. My apologies to those who already voted and would have liked to select this option.

Given a change in my travel habits, I'm actually bringing more business to NW/DL this year and have undertaken a concerted expect to reach platinum (always been silver).
