747 at MEM right now
There's a "Air Kallilli" (or something similar, my mind is waning) B747 at MEM right now--away from the main terminal areas. Looks to be passenger not freighter.

Could be a name for the CIA air with direct service to Guantanamo.

Guess it is a freighter--I thought I saw windows, though, at least on the upper level.

Not really sure what it has to do with NW, but I believe it was a Kalitta air - look at Kalitta's current schedule on their website:

Last time I flew into MEM, there were two Air Kalitta 747s on the cargo apron. Is the plane red and white?

We (I'm a Captain at Kalitta Air) are moving US Mail for Fedex this time of year - we did it last year as well. We fly to a variety of places from MEM: ANC, DEN, HNL, SMF and SJU.
We operate 16 airplanes, all B747s to Europe, Middle East, and Asia. You can also spot our planes in the United States at LAX, SFO, ANC, EWR, JFK and ORD, but for sheer numbers in one place at one time, MEM is the place at Christmas.
Oh, and the upper deck does have passenger windows. We have some first class seats up there for couriers or other crewmembers as well as some bunks for really long flights.

By the title of the thread, I thought it was a NW 747. I was about to rush to the airport and try and catch a glimpse. When was the last time NW flew a 747 into MEM?

Looks like the 747 is headed for HNL. And here I thought NW was opening up service between HNL and MEM.
