Levi (Finnish Lapland) - Meeting Santa

I am taking my family to Levi in Finnish Lapland next February (independently/not part of a package). One of our main aims is to meet Santa. I have heard about two Levi options, but have struggled to find out much about either, so am turning to my most reliable source of travel info - FT.

1. Santa's Secret Hideaway
2. Santa coming to visit you at your accommodation

Both are allegedly non-commercialised and authentic. My daughter will become 7 during our trip and it would be awesome if she could meet Santa that day. Therefore, I am desperate to book this before we go. The problem is that outside of the pre-Christmas time the main online operators I can find seem unable to confirm which days these are possible on and say the first is subject to minimum numbers. I will feel we have wasted a trip if we aren't able to do one of these. I also want to book a night in the Lainio Snow Hotel and in the Golden Circle glass igloos. Both are expensive so I wouldn't want to book them and find they clash with our only opportunities to do one of the Santa meets.

Does anybody have any info/experience of either of these Santa-meeting opportunities? Any help/advice gratefully received...

Have you lost your faith in Santa?

No, but if I'm spending a few thousand £ I want to make sure as much as possible that we can achieve one of the main reasons for going. Returning home without a good Santa experience constitutes a failure in my eyes.

I suggest having a look at the Tripadvisor Lapland forums, as FT is perhaps more geared towards the business traveler.

Yep, I already looked there before trying here.

Reddit has a very active Finland community. You might try posting your question over there.

I suggest making a Skype call to the Levi Tourist office, +358 16 639 3300. I am sure they will be able to provide you details on when and where to meet Santa in February. There is also a santa park in Rovaniemi, but it looks like it is only open to groups in February.
