Helsinki airport installs world’s first real-time passenger tracking system

All travelers who opt to log into the the airport's wi-fi using their smart phones will have their real-time movements tracked. Wi-fi user are notified of the monitoring system when they first log in and are also given the option to opt in for other services which are designed to notify them of sales and offers available at the airport's shops.

I think they missed the memo about the latest phone operating systems no longer allowing this: http://marketingland.com/apple-kille...ng-ios-8-86908

However, if you actually manually log into the airport's free wifi, then you can (obviously) be tracked, all they're doing is pulling together the previous scattered logs.
