Imminent terror threat against Norway
There is a developing terror threat situation in Norway ongoing right now. The PST (Police Security Service) in Norway has issued a general public warning about a real and imminent threat of a terrorist attack in Norway "within the next few days". People are told to be alert, but armed police has a strong presence at all major public transport hubs (main international airports, central trainstations), and there is a high degree of security measures being rolled out all over the country, so the situation seems to be under control, although the police admits "they don't know exactly what they are looking for". The terror threat is linked to ethnic islamic individuals and/or extremists, who are also norwegian citizens, being recruited as fighters for ISIL in Syria and Iraq. The PST has direct information that some of these individuals may have received terrorist training during their time with ISIL, and have made actual plans to perform a terrorist attack after they have returned to Norway.
An official press statement has been issued by the norwegian PST: http://www.pst.no/media/pressemeldin...gainst-norway/
For the time being, no major extended delays are expected for travelers within Norway, but security queues in the international airports are seemingly growing, probably due to increased thoroughness in screening of passengers. One might also expect smaller delays entering/exiting the country through all border crossings.
UPDATE (Friday afternoon (July 25th) local time): According to several norwegian national newsmedia, newly acquired police intelligence reveals very specific information about a group of terrorists that allegedly have left Syria bound for Norway, to conduct an unspecified terrorist attack in Norway on Monday next week.

Summer lines at OSL and other sort of major Norwegian airports are way slower historically at this time anyway. That the current Norwegian government is jumping on the US-UK bandwagon of at-airport "security" paranoia (even in the absence of any imminent threat that is a clear and present danger) shouldn't really surprise. This is the result of rather clueless "intelligence" services trusting "allies" way too much without knowing enough. That said, even a government's broken clock may be right twice a day.
