The Transportation Security Administration has moved beyond just checking for weapons and explosives. It’s now training airport screeners to spot anything suspicious, and then honoring them when searches lead to arrests for crimes like drug possession and credit-card fraud.
But two court cases in the past month question whether TSA searches—which the agency says have broadened to allow screeners to use more judgment—have been going too far.
A federal judge in June threw out seizure of three fake passports from a traveler, saying that TSA screeners violated his Fourth Amendment rights against unreasonable search and seizure. Congress authorizes TSA to search travelers for weapons and explosives; beyond that, the agency is overstepping its bounds, U.S. District Court Judge Algenon L. Marbley said.
Wow. I didn't realize know that. I don't think to says tougher and let's little tough security measure. Security will be very tighter at checkpoint. I knows it is way too many people who gotten arrested ID fraudulent and commited credit card fraud, too. TSA is take own capable job need to more stricter to check the passengers match with identifiable. It will have more comparable security need to be stepped it up. I don't think ever happening again anytime soon. Where you can see alot of illegible immigrations come into USA. IT will be result to arrested as charge of illegal Immigrants. They will faced to be deportation out of USA. TSA are taking own responsibilities jobs need to check the suspicious behaviors to find any weapons or explosives. TSA need to be secure flights and more protected the US Citizenship.
This is more reasonable time where aviation security need to get more tighter security meausres. This is better specification time need to get more improvment the aviation security. The federal government is doing their own justifications.

Great comments, too. I particularly like this one:
Quote:
The TSA is becoming increasingly and alarmingly out of control-- modern day brownshirts who are governmentally empowered to browbeat, abuse, threaten, and steal, and it is they, rather than the terrorists from whom they're supposedly protecting us, who pose the greatest threat to today's travelers, and about whom we have the greatest reason to feel unease.
Much of the problem is that instead of hiring intelligent, well-educated individuals who know their business and do it well-- as the Israelis have done, and quite successfully, for many years-- our government sees fit to hire refugees from "Deliverance" who relish and take full advantage of this one, mistakenly provided, opportunity in their lives to exert power over others. The result has turned flying into an exercise in fascism, with the added joy of having to separately ship one's possessions via FedEx in order to avoid having everything of value stolen during the "security" search.
It's no secret to anyone who travels that this poorly conceived and atrociously implemented agency, which becomes more aggressive, more corrupt, and more impressed with its own importance by the day, needs a complete, top-to-bottom overhaul-- accompanied by an apology to the American public-- and without delay.

(Bolding mine) Well said! I had no idea Spiff uses a pen name and writes for the WSJ.
