If you reach the entry in Wikipedia for "EXPEDIA" you will find (sometimes) a section about "customer Feedback" that says :
"As is common with large internet travel agencies, some customers have been unsatisfied with various aspects of Expedia.com products and services. Customer complaints include lost reservations, erroneous hotel accommodations, poor customer service, and failure to post negative reviews online at Expedia.com ......'
What is very interesting is that if you check another day the same entry, the section about "customer feedback" will eventually (misteriously) dissapear. That means that someone is helping EXPEDIA to delete their negative aspects from wikipedia.
I had been following that entry for few days and I noticed that someone (I swear it wasn't me) write that section in Wikipedia and someone else erase from there. That happened few times in the last week.
What is more interesting is that the entry for orbitz (although contains a negative section called "controversies" ) was not erased during the same period of time.
I'll chime in with a thumbs down for Expedia. I won't use them again ever. Their customer service (or lack thereof) PO'ed me too many times. There are too many better online booking agencies www.octopustravel.com for example.
If you have an Expedia booking or a booking made through any third party, always confirm with the hotel or airline that the booking exists as you have made it. I do lots of third-party reservations, but I always confirm that the communication between the third party and the service provider has actually happened.
Interesting; the disappearance of the comments is probably a bad sign!
It already happened, you can track the history : As you can see the "customer feedback" was erased a couple of times (last one on dec-21-2006) and a "business relationships" section is missing in the current article.
I've used expedia a lot, I have had no complaints. I did have to use customer service once and they were very helpful. I do double check my reservations before I leave though...I do this regardless of who booked the trip.

The issue here isn't whether expedia has given good customer service. It is whether they, or people acting on their behalf, are censoring the info about them on wikipedia.

Right. That would be another dirty tactic from EXPEDIA to cheat customers. it would be also very deletereous for wikipedia if people cannot trust them because of very unethical business practice from bad companies.

How exactly does altering an entry on a website that is essentially the product of the collective imagination of the online world consist of "cheating customers"?
