What threads are appropriate for Newstand?

A few quick notes about what is appropriate for Newstand and how to start new threads...

Newstand is a place to discuss current news that relates to travel in some way. We are pretty loose about what that means.

Before starting a new thread, ask yourself, "Would other Flyertalkers be interested in this story?"

A story about steel prices probably wouldn't be appropriate. But a story about airlines, road warriors, restaurants, trends in the travel industry...I could go on and on...these would be great subjects for Newstand.

Newstand follows a format that is different from other parts of Flyertalk.

1. When you start a thread, please post a link to an article so we can all click on it, read the article, and discuss it.

2. Please DO NOT post entire articles unless you have the permission of the copyright holder. Post a paragraph, the link, and a description of the article, to comply with the terms of service of Flyertalk.

3. In rare instances, posting a link won't be possible, but this should be very rare.

Thank!

Sometimes News is airline/hotel/rental car co. Specific and belongs in another forum

Sometimes a news story about a specific airline, hotel chain, or rental car company belongs in a specific forum rather than the newsstand.

When you believe that the news is related to nonly one FT forum then you may want to locate the link and discussion in that forum instead of here.
