YES!!!! For those of us in NY State, but not in NYC (about 300 miles from Rochester, 370, from Buffalo, 230 from Syracuse, etc), we finally have a chance to get some reasonably priced airfares. Rochester, home of the 4th highest airfares in the country ( how about $1.40 to $1.75 per mile from Rochester to NYC), is one of the airports that JetBlue has promised to fly to with significantly lower fares and enough money to be able to fight the "big boys" trying to stop them.
Think they still need an "airworthy" or something certificate but they are on their way - and hopefully not the way of Kiwi and others. Good luck Blue- I like the color myself!

The effect of JetBlue's planned entry into the upstate NY/northern New England was felt even before it received its slots at JFK.
Burlington, VT(BTV) which has the highest overall airline costs in New England is seeing benefits already. Citing 'competitive reasons', United announced recently that all IAD>BTV flights would be changed from props to regional jets by the end of November. Prior to this, almost all jet service into BTV was dominated by US Airways. The only exceptions were 1 BTV>ORD flight daily and 1 RT on CO to EWR (late night / early am).
JetBlue is not scheduled to start flying out of BTV for at least 6 months.
