I nominate Chicago Uno. Any location is fine as long as you order the "flatbread pizza," an absolutely miserable excuse for pizza that should be served only in Riker's Island.

Reason: Moved from http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=866557 since "worst pizza" is not the topic of that thread
Uno's is disgusting, especially if you go there expecting "real" Chicago-style pizza. Domino's is awful, too, as are most national chains.
Maybe it's just a taste thing, but I don't trust pizzerias that put ricotta on pizza. I personally find it gross.
There is a deli on I think 33rd between 6th and 7th that has the worst pizza I've ever had in my life--no kidding, I couldn't even finish it and that's saying a lot. I'd rather have Domino's. There was no red sauce, but rather some watery yet creamy white sauce on it. The next time I pass it, I'll note the name and edit the post--I will be doing all NYCers a favor. Ewwwww. :-)
There are so many bad pizza places in NYC. I don't even know where to start.
Obviously most of the chains are pretty bad (although I'm not sure if you can call them "New York City Pizza"). But there are some terrible indy places, too. I'd nominate the 99 cent pizza place behind the Port Authority Bus Terminal (it tastes a little like the Tombstone frozen pizzas I used to eat as a kid, only not as good). There's a pretty terrible place on Clinton just below East Broadway (bad enough that I didn't even finish my slice). And there are places all over town that put way too much cheese on the pie.
That said, I've never had pizza in NY anywhere near as bad as I've had in any number of other places.

It kind of goes without saying that the national chains, by and large, have bad pizza.
I thought the point of this thread was to warn people about local places that in their opinion are best avoided. I.e., to help the unwary. I think most people have already figured out whether or not they like Sbarro's, Papa John's, Uno's, Dominos, etc.
Also, some people are listing places that they consider GOOD. Why do that in a thread whose title is "Worst New York City Pizza?" Isn't there another thread for the GOOD pizza places?
