Times Square Thanksgiving Week

My wife loves NYC, so I was looking at the possibility of sending my daughter and her up for a few days this week before Thanksgiving.

And I was blown away at how low the prices are. The Marriott Fairfield Inn Time Square is only $100/night and there are other very "favorable" rates right now. Is this normal for this time of the year or is something happening/not happening this week?

I was planning on using points if they go, but for that rate, I think I'd just pay for the room.

You answered your own question.
It's Thanksgiving week. The biggest holiday of the year. No business travelers in NYC. Ergo lower hotel rates.

I knew it was Thanksgiving week, but thought that there would be in influx of Thanksgiving related travel (i.e. for parades, etc.). Was just surprised at how low some of the hotels are going.

Times Square as in the New York Times....

I'm surprised with the $100/night. I hope they have a wonderful time here.

Thanksgiving week is one of the best weeks to be in NYC. Few tourists and many locals go away. Take advantage - book a reservation at a hot restaurant and try for Hamilton tickets.

At least the Stubhub tickets should be somewhat lower

The Ham 4 Ham lottery might be a good idea though!

Glad I bought tickets the day then went on sale earlier this year.

Reserved a room yesterday at the Intercontinental Times Sq for $169 (AAA rate) for tonight. I thought that was a bargain.
