I am looking for accommodation on City Island in NYC.

According to the City Island website, there are no hotels there.

Might be a Bed and Breakfast.

How close do you need to be and what are the minimal accomodations (bedroom in someone's house/apartment?) you can tolerate?

OP, you might be thinking of Le Refuge which was a hotel and restaurant on City Island.

According to a Yelp post, however, it is closed. Maybe you should check this out yourself since the website is still up.
