Air Train from Rental Cars to T7

I am returning a rental car to Budget then heading to T7 for a BA flight.

Do both Air Train lines stop at the rental car station? Does it matter which one I take? I thought I read they go in opposite directions around the terminals but not sure if that is true or if it really makes a difference.

Thanks

You want the Airtrain heading to the terminals. Do not board an Airtrain to Jamaica.

Yes, but do the 2 lines go in opposite directions around the terminal? Since I am going to T7, I would prefer to be one of the 1st stops instead of one of the last stops.

The "All Terminals" AirTrain route does not serve Federal Circle station (where the rental cars are), so you just get on any airport-bound train, which will stop at the numbered terminals in ascending order.

You can, in theory, go from Federal Circle to Terminal 1 and then switch there to the All Terminals train stopping at T8 then T7. It only actually works to save you time if the All Terminals train is puling in to T1 at the same time you are on the train from Federal Circle. Otherwise it is basically a wash or slower to switch.
