Roosevelt Island Tramway reopened today! [30 Nov 2010]

The Roosevelt Island Tramway reopened today after being out of service for 9 months when it broke down and stranded a bunch of folks. I went over to the east side on a lark and ended up being on the first east-bound tram open to the public.

I'm glad it's back. When I was a kid a couple of times a year my Dad would take me on it, then we'd walk around Roosevelt Island before taking the subway back. Some great memories (and pictures) resulted.
