Water taxi from Logan
Have a couple of stays at Fairmont Battery Wharf in May and have read there is a water taxi from the airport directly to the Fairmont. Is this as easy as it sounds and where do you have to go to catch/call it? Online info is vague.
Is there an easy alternative? Looks like the MTA requires a transfer or two and I will be dragging an overpacked 20" roller and a messenger bag. Dragging is easy, lifting is not.
Any guess about (approximately) how much would a taxi be?
First trip is easy, 3 days in Boston. Second time around I'm on my way to Australia the hard way for a two-week trip and will be loaded down.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. (Well, "don't do it" is not helpful at this point triple miles and DEQM ya know.)

Thanks! I looked at that, but I don't want to go to Long Wharf or Rowes Wharf. I need to get to Battery Wharf which is quite a bit further north.
I'm looking for the private water taxi $10 more or less that will take me directly to Battery Wharf. The entire Battery Wharf complex seems to be the usual muddled inner city redev project that isn't quite ready for prime time, which is why I suspect public transporation could be an issue.
I would call the hotel, but my experience is that hotels expect guests to use taxis and car services and in the US rarely have MTA or bus information. (Well, if you ask the housekeeper you can usually get pretty clear info on public transportation, but the front desk rarely has a clue. )
I should just call the taxi services and ask. Duh.

I don't know exactly, but I can assure you that a taxi will be ridiculously expensive for an exceedingly short trip. You get charged $7.50 (iirc) before you even leave the airport. I suspect the all-in fare (including tip) would be in the $20-$25 neighborhood for a ride that should be $10-$15.
Taking the T would require at least one transfer (from the bus to the Blue Line), and possible two (another transfer to the Green Line to get to a closer station), and still would require a decent walk.

That's it! $10 one-way. Of the 3 services, only Rowes Wharf Water Transport actually mentions Battery Wharf (twice). And I think that wasn't there when I looked a few weeks ago. All three mention the same places, but Battery Wharf is a bit out of the way, so I wanted to see it in writing.
