This code gave me a great rate $25.99 down from $67.00 on a Sat-Sun rental (1 day) but when I changed it to Sun-Mon it raised it quite a bit ($143.68 for a mid-size). What do you think about sandwiching this between 2 1-2 free days. I would in essence have 3 "separate" reservations. Seems I recall that they will link the reservations, not requiring you to return and re-rent. Any experiences?

I need some help with a 4 day (12/17-12/21) rental at DSM. For some reason, National insists on pricing this out as a week long rental. This obviously raises the price about $100 above all other rental companies. The best coupon I have been able to find so far is the CO free weekend day but that still does not help the price that much (still about $50 higher). Any other suggestions?

Ditto that- what controls National giving me the weekly pricing? It seems like 4 and 5-day rentals should go by weekly pricing!

It could be their way of imposing a minimum keep, thinking that some people will just book for 7 days since the rate won't change. Just my theory...

The GMAC 5299328 code looks like it is going to expire since I can't use it for reservations in late December.

What's the deal here, that was a very nice code! Don't know what I am going to do now

I am trying to book a one way rental from Ottawa, Ontario-Windsor, Ontario. But it seems with every code I use I get '0 Free Kilometres', so they want to charge 0.20$ for each km I drive. Are there any codes that allow cheaper OW rentals?
(I am also under 25)

If you try 6100253, the AAA code, it'll give you the regular rate with unlimited km. But you have to pay the underage fee ($30 per day). Are you Emerald Club? Try using a free day against it and then you walk away only paying the underage fee and taxes.

Though I check the rate and I'm afraid you'd wind up paying more with that code. Some cities it works, some it doesn't. The nice thing too with the corporate rates is that the drop fee is the mileage cap, rather than a high daily rate. So if you end up needing an extra day it's only $40-50 per day instead of hundreds. As well, National has the cheapest YOW-Windsor rate on Expedia so it looks like the .20 per km is the lowest you can go.

I just checked and Hertz is charging a $425 drop fee from Ottawa to Windsor. That Hertz deal is great, don't get me wrong, but for this gentleman's inquiry National is still the cheaper option.

I registered for the Gold Hertz promotion and though it says that I would be waived the Under-25 fee, during the free calculation it says that I still need to pay the 25$ Under-25 fee.

Does it get waived at the desk?

Three weeks of pluggin' in codes for all of the major companies and at the end of the day National gave me a nicest deal via Coupon ID: NF1982JDD

Almost embarrassed to say that the coupon is available on their home page, no fake nose and "forgotten" i.d. needed for this deal.

EWR - all in, off the lot - $134 compact

Where is the best deal?

I used the Travel Solutions (now dead) discount in June. Still can't believe I got one week in a luxury car (Infinity) for $198. Are there any sleeping beauties out there like that one?

Also, I see several that say 20% + free weekend day. When I put that code in, I get nothing more than the same discount I see everywhere else. how do I get the "free day"?
