NA sending me rental return emails

Got one today. Never saw this before. Is this new?

I got one too when my car was due back yesterday. I thought it was something to do with the fact that I added a day to the reservation during the time I had the car, but maybe it is a new feature.

Doubtful, I got one a few hours after I returned my car on Sunday in DEN...annoying really after its already been dropped off.

Yup, I got another one this weekend, on a cancelled reservation.

I wish there was an "opt out" of these. I'm not going to forget to return a rental car, when I have a flight to catch....

There's an opt out. It's called Hertz or Avis.

I agree, it's annoying as hell. Makes you wonder what bright-eyed kid who never rented a car in his/her life came up with this idea and pitched it to National management.

I suspect you could call and "opt out". But I also suspect it's an "all or nothing" opt out which means you would also lose the reservation reminders as well as the emailed receipts after turn-in.

See, I don't receive any receipts after I return, which would actually be very useful. I just get the "your car is waiting" emails on the day of rental and the "your car is due back" emails.

Agreed the 'your car is due back' email is pretty useless when I have a flight to catch!

I think having a return receipt by email would be very useful as well, I used to receive a one-liner 'thank you for returning the car' email not too long ago (2010/2011?).

I noticed on my most recent email that there's an opt-out link at the bottom. Have to see what exactly that opts me out of receiving.

Good call... I don't know if that's new but I clicked one from last week and the unsubscribe link appears to only unsubscribe you from return alerts.

There's also a link to eReceipts on the bottom but when I click it, it just goes to my Emerald Club profile...
