It's not. It's an SFAR/SRAR depending on 4WD/RWD.

If they offer a Cherokee while you booked a FFAR you can refuse it right ?!

So why did they offer Xienon a GC while he booked a FFAR a couple weeks ago?
Does that happen often at JFK?

I have no idea; perhaps they were out of FFARs or he requested it.

A Cherokee would in fact be a 2-class downgrade as those are IFARs. A Grand Cherokee is only a one-class "downgrade" even though it's a much nicer vehicle than most of the FFAR/FRARs, especially with the Luxury group.

In any case I'd take a GC Limited w/Luxury Group any day over most of the FFAR's in the fleet, unless it was a Tahoe or Suburban LTZ or the rarer Yukon/Yukon XL Denali.

Thanks dwbf!
Other FFAR's in National's fleet are Expedition's, Seqouia's ?

I guess I just have to wait and see...

I reserved a full size SUV because that was the highest class available (for my free day coupon) which could have helped me bargain for something else interesting on the lot. I took the Grand Cherokee because I didn't need a 3rd row seat and it was a Limited with the Luxury II package. There were a few Yukons/Suburbans I could have taken but those are more of a liability in NYC.

Okay, fair enough .

I start my roadtrip towards Florida at JFK so quite a trip ahead. That's the reason I'd go for a Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon.

What can I expext at this locaton for a Full Size Car ? I am renting from Alamo and it says National and Alamo are sharing the same lot and same building so I am assuming that they share the same cars.

National uses common vehicle classifications across the U.S. A Camry will be full-size at JFK, Oakland, and Pensacola, too. Nissan Altima, Chevy Malibu, and Ford Fusion are other common examples of National FCAR.

So I can expect the Usual vehicles then. Hopefully I wont be stuck with a Sonata.

Cars at JFK

Was just at JFK at 9PM Friday. Bare except for 3-4 sedans combined in both aisles. There were several minivans lying around and I happened to need the extra capacity. Agent wanted $50. No dice.

As I was loading into a sedan, another agent who overheard my conversation with first agent came up and offered the minivan gratis. Checked out at exit by 3rd agent without any hang tag and it also ran up without upgrade charge. Seems to me I could have just picked the minivan to begin with.

Friday afternoon (5/1) around 4:30, didn't get a good look at Aisle (it did seem rather full) but on the executive rows there were mostly Jeep Compasses and a couple of Buick enclaves. Maybe a dozen vehicles total on Executive but they were coming in as fast as they were leaving.

Picked up last night at 11pm (Aug 1, 2015), and the place was almost empty.

ES had only 2 cars: a Volkswagen (Jetta?) and a Jeep (Compass, I think). There were only a few cars for EA.

I'm Exec so a staff member got me a Chevy Tahoe that was being cleaned after return (and someone smoked in it). I had to wait 15 minutes or so. Sorry for no more inventory details, I was dealing with 2 small children after a long day.

What a nightmare. Avoid this location (compared to EWR, IMO).

Hey, been lurking for a while and finally felt I had enough to offer back.

Here's an update on the JFK lot based on my 20 rentals this year so far:

Roughly a 20 car aisle for Executive; around 25 for Emerald.

I've had my fair share of luck on the executive aisle
2016 Mustang GT convertible
2016 Dodge Charger R/T
2016 Chrysler 300c HEMI
2016 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL
etc.

Expect to see GMC, Chevy, Nissan, Jeep
Don't expect to see Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Buick
Premiums are usually Cadillac; CTS and XTS

There's always a good number of SUVs and minivans off the aisle too.
