Didn't pay much attention at LAS on Monday, but noticed:

Kia Optima
Chevy Cruze
Chevy Impala
Chrysler 300
Chevy Camaro

December

Coming mid December for a week. I want something fun to drive. Just wondering what the selections for the convertibles, "sporty" and luxury reservations were. I know it's a long ways away. Just getting a feel

LAS definitely has Mustang GT's but they are in the executive aisle and depends on whether or not it's a busy weekend. Most of the time, I still see a least a few left...but YMMV.

What's considered "Sporty" and is there a separate aisle for it? I am burning a free day coupon and figured why not? I am hoping for something with a lot of power... Ie. Mustang GT or Charger R/T... Or ideally maybe pick up a 3-series or something if they let me.

Enjoy your V6 pony car (Mustang/Camaro/Challenger). Sports is not usually a reservable category. If you hit the jackpot, you'll find an Ecoboost Mustang.

The 3 Series has no power, they are all 328i's with zero spec, the only good thing about that really is the BMW badge on the keyfob if that does it for you.

Sure it's not a 320i then? That wouldn't surprise me if they're going for base models. I might be heading to Vegas next year, and I can't decide if I want to try my luck with the upgrade aisle or just book a convertible...

No, they are 328i but they have only 240hp versus 330bhp in the Infiniti Q50 (Another GXAR) or 275hp in the ATS 2.0T (An LCAR but often available on a reservation that would give you the other two).

You need to really want 'a BMW' to pick the 328i over either of those two (Though it does have a fantastic transmission).

I get the impression if the BMW wasn't a BMW it'd be a PCAR at best..

Ah, well they sell the 320i here now too, and that's only 180hp... Talk about just getting that roundel badge as cheaply as possible! I definitely agree BMW's aren't nearly as nice as they used to be, or should be for their price. Even that ZF 8-speed automatic isn't that special (I like it a lot, but there are plenty of cars besides BMW's that have it).

All the horsepower in the world isn't going to really help when you'll spend 90% of your time sitting in traffic on the Strip.

True but when you have miles of open freeway around the city, it's always fun to open her up a little bit.

Coming from a place with 80 mph speed limits, the 75 in Nevada is like being trapped in a Sammy Hagar song.
